Our videos tell it all. Serenity Trauma Healing Center provides a wide range of therapies designed to heal the mind and body, including breathwork therapy. We’ve been recognized by media across the nation. The personal accomplishments we’ve enabled are demonstrated in a video interview with Katie Couric, which covers the story of survivors of military sexual trauma. Our company was involved in the development of the treatment structure demonstrated in the video.
Another video covers the traumatic experiences of women who were members of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. An underreported problem, as detailed in the video, assaults are all too common, and survivors report being silenced. Many suffer from PTSD and other effects. We provide an alternative to limited veteran’s healthcare resources, including behavioral therapies, group therapy, and breathwork meditation therapy.
Not only people in the military suffer from trauma. People from all walks of life deal with the aftereffects of traumatic experiences and Serenity Trauma Healing Center is here to help.
BREATHWORK THERAPY
Breathing is a fundamental system of the human body that we so often ignore, but, through the innovative breathwork experience, we can harness this gentle yet powerful natural process to aid healing on both a physical and a mental level. Examples of breathwork include holotropic breathwork, circular breathing, and rebirthing breathwork.
What Is Breathwork?
At its core, breathwork seeks to consciously alter breathing patterns in order to trigger fundamental changes within the body. It’s already well-known that regular deep breathing can calm anxiety and panic responses. Breathwork takes this idea further and applies a range of breathing techniques that stimulates oxygen retention and improves the flow of cellular healing energy in the long term.
At the same time, breathwork meditation encourages deep mindfulness and sensory perception of the physical body. The rhythmic nature of conscious breathing together with the heightened senses brought on by the technique allow you to bring deep subconscious layers to the surface where they can be examined and corrected. Through deep breaths and a coached breathing pattern, a calming effect on the nervous system can occur, which can help control stress response, anxiety, and negative feelings.
At Serenity Trauma Healing Center in Malibu, CA, we believe that many addictions and mental disorders are, in a large part, disguises for deeper trauma. Without healing this trauma, you cannot begin to address the disorder. The breathing techniques of breathwork are an important tool for bringing forth these buried traumas in a controlled and safe manner while allowing you to simultaneously release the stress and anxiety associated with confronting these traumas.
